Dismantles, repairs, or replaces defective parts, and reassembles machinery, using machinist's handtools, chain hoists, and steel rollers. May maintain ship's plumbing system. May change fuses and lights and overhaul electric motors. Rating must be endorsed by U.S. Coast Guard.
