Tends tank in which catalytic material is impregnated with liquid chemicals for use in manufacturing butadiene: Weighs specified quantity of catalyst and dumps it into tank containing measured amounts of liquid chemicals. Turns steam valve to heat mixture in tank until boiling occurs, impregnating catalytic material. Determines specific gravity of mixture, using hydrometer, and adds specified types and quantities of reagents to attain prescribed specific gravity. |
