May collect premiums from policyholders and keep record of payments. Must hold license issued by state. May be designated according to type of insurance sold as Sales Agent, Casualty Insurance (insurance); Sales Agent, Fire Insurance (insurance); Sales Agent, Life Insurance (insurance); Sales Agent, Marine Insurance (insurance). May work independently selling variety of insurance, such as life, fire, casualty, and marine, for many companies and be designated Insurance Broker (insurance).
