Receives, stores, sorts, and issues upper shoe leather for cutting operations: Verifies contents of bundles of leather against delivery form. Stores bundles in bins or on shelves according to code, color, or supplier's designation. Sorts leather according to quality, thickness, and color. Compares pieces of leather to match color and grain. Inspects leather for defects, such as open grains, scars, and undercuts. Fills orders for upper leather from stock. Bundles leather and attaches work order for issuance to workers. May carry or handtruck bundles to workers. May sort and store other shoe upper material, such as synthetics and cloth. |
