Finishes hand pressed or blown glassware by forming and attaching lips, handles, and pedestals: Cuts required gob (lump) from molten glass, using shears. Forms gob into handle, using wooden paddles to shape handle. Drops gob into hand-press mold to form pedestal. Presses handle and pedestal to glassware to attach them. Shapes handle and forms lips by rubbing and pressing with carbon stick. Smooths pedestal, using wooden buffer. May be known by article attached as Foot Caster (glass mfg.).
